Vaisakhi Festival ( Sikh Festival)

Our Sikh community would like to share our Festival. Please find the details below for better understanding:

1- Vaisakhi is one of the most important dates in the Sikh calendar. Vaisakhi is a spring festival which happens on the 13th or 14th April every year.  It is the year when Sikhism was born as a collective faith & Baptism of Sikhism took place in 13 April in 1699.

This year Vaisakhi was on Monday 14th April 2025.

2-To celebrate Vaisakhi, Sikhs visit places of worship called Gurudwaras. Most of the Sikh population around the world take part in parades and special processions through the streets called “nagar kirtans”.

'Nagar' means town and 'kirtan' means the singing of hymns from the Guru Granth Sahib, which is the Sikh holy book.
