Music Notes

School Open Day performances for Junior Strings and Year 3 Singing Club.

We are excited to announce that on Thursday, 12th June, our Junior Strings and Year 3 Singing Club will be performing for parents during the School Open Day. All Students are to wear their formal school uniform (not white shirt). Students will get their name marked off the role before their performance.

Below are the details for each group:

Junior Strings:

  • Arrival Time: Students should bring their instruments to school on Thursday morning.
  • Meeting Point: They will meet Mr. Holloway at the Music Block at 8:30 AM for tuning. Mrs Kelly will mark the role and let teachers know you are at school.
  • Performance: Following the tuning session, they will proceed to the hall for their performance.

Year 3 Singing Club:

  • Meeting Time: Students should go to their class and get their name marked of the role and then meet Mrs. Kelly at the school hall at 8:55 AM.
  • Preparation: They will quietly sit on the choir risers, ready to perform their song.

Both groups will return to their respective classes after their performances.

We are looking forward to showcasing the hard work and talent of our students.

What to Bring:

Students must bring the following items: a small bag containing morning tea, lunch, a water bottle, and their school hat.

What to Wear:

Students are required to wear their performance uniform, which includes a white performance shirt, black pants, black socks, and black leather shoes. Hair should be neatly tied back using a black or bottle green ribbon or hair tie.

Additional Information

Tickets are free, will need to book still waiting on information of how to do this.

Please note that students' personal equipment is not covered under the school's insurance policy. It is recommended that parents take out their own property insurance to cover any personal equipment brought onto school premises or taken on music camps and excursions.

Symphonic Band Immersion Day at Sunnybank Hills State School

Time:

8:15am arrival- Concert 3:45pm 4:15 pickup

Cost:

Nil, A pizza lunch will be available for purchase, 3 – 4 slices of Hawaiian, Meat Lovers, Cheese, Ham & Pineapple, Supreme and Vegetarian costing $5.00. If students wish to purchase pizza, please ensure they bring the necessary money.

Transport:

Private Transport to and from Sunnybank Hills State School

What to Bring:

Expression of interest for 2026 Instrumental Program -
Email to current 2025 Year 2 parents for interest in Strings and current 2025 Year 3 parents for interest in Band.

This includes information about the Instrumental Program and how to register.
N.B There is criteria and due to the size of the school and Program, only selected students will enter the Program.
No communication will be entered into after and no late replies will be taken. Recruitment for the Instrumental Program will take all of Term 3 and you will find out if you are successful at the end of the last week of Term 3.
