MET WEST REPRESENTATIVE – TOUCH FOOTBALL

Huge congratulations to Penny on her selection for the Met West Touch Football Team!

At the regional trials a few weeks ago, Penny’s lightning speed and impressive bag of tricks caught the eye of selectors — and now she’s been called up to represent Met West at the State Championships in Roma this August!

We’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved, Penny. Wishing you the best of luck as you take on this next challenge. Roma, here she comes!

SENIOR SPORTS DAYS

It was a little chilly, but the sun was shining for our Senior Athletics Carnivals in Week 8, making it a fantastic two days filled with fun, team spirit, and outstanding athletic performances. A big thank you to all the parents and family members who came along to support the students. Some even joined in on the fun during the Teacher vs Parent vs Student Relay Race. Congratulations to the 12-year-old boys and girls team, who claimed victory in the race this year. Well done to everyone involved!

Several records were broken across the two days. A testament to the incredible talent and determination of our students. Congratulations to the following students on their remarkable achievements:

  • Discus – 11yr Girls: Sofia C. – 21.90 metres
  • High Jump – 10yr Girls: Penelope M. – 1.17 metres
  • High Jump – 11yr Girls: Sofia C. – 1.22 metres
  • Long Jump – 10yr Girls: Penelope M. – 3.87 metres
  • Long Jump – 11yr Girls: Sofia C. – 3.88 metres

A heartfelt thank you to our P&C and YMCA for their generous support. The P&C organised a fantastic sausage sizzle and bake sale, which was enjoyed by both students and teachers. YMCA kindly donated sausages for staff and ice blocks for students. A much-appreciated treat on such active days!

Following last year’s tie between Beerwon and Yindi, Beerwon was determined to take the win in 2025, and they did just that. Congratulations to Beerwon, our 2025 Champion House!

A big shoutout also goes to all our Age Champion recipients, who stood out in their respective age groups. Medallions will be awarded at our assembly in Week 3 next term.

Lastly, congratulations to the 36 athletes aged 10–12 who have qualified for the WRSS Track and Field team. They will be competing at QSAC in the upcoming Eastern Taipans District Trials. We wish them the very best of luck!
